Introduction
First, welcome and thanks for signing up to the Aircraft Transaction Masterclass.
The number of transactions goes up and down. But in a typical year, aircraft manufacturers look to deliver around 700 new aircraft and around 2,500 pre-owned business jets are sold (it was 3,079 in 2021, according to AMSTAT). Apart from a few fleet purchases by NetJets or Flexjet, nearly all of these deals are unique.
This is why business jet transactions are so fascinating. Brokers and lawyers with decades of experience are still finding new problems and solutions.
The course started from our residential courses that have run for more than 10 years in London and Miami and been attended by more than 500 professionals.
As well as using presentations and documents from these training courses, this online course also uses sessions from our conferences around the world and new material written by our faculty of experts with a combined experience of more than 200 years in business aviation. We have included both the US and European slides when there are major differences.
If you have any questions or issues, please let us know. We have also included the contact details for all the faculty under the "Resources" session.
Please do let me know if you have any questions or comments.
We hope you enjoy the course.
Very kind regards,
Louisa Whyte

How the course works
Every transaction is different, but the course is roughly organised to flow in the same way as most aircraft sales. We start with looking at the importance of the team of advisers, making an offer and flow through to completion.
Because not all aircraft are financed, we have split this into a different section. We have also added a section on managing risks and end with resources.
You are welcome to move around the course in any way you wish. There are also sample transaction documents and handouts for you to study. You can also speed up the play time of videos by adjusting settings.
Just please remember, that the course is no substitute for specialist advice on individual transactions.
